Welcome to Europe’s youngest land! You read that right, in the Danube Delta you will find the youngest land in Europe. The area where we are, thanks to the permanent deposits of alluvium, is constantly changing and grows annually by approximately 40 centimeters. This means that you can take your first steps on lands that no one has stepped on before, just like a real Explorer!<\/p>\n

We invite you to fully enjoy the following days and explore not only the village of Sf\u00e2ntu Gheorghe and the longest and most beautiful wild beach that the Romanian coast hosts, but also the Delta with all its richness: the canals full of pleasures, plants, birds and fish.<\/p>\n

As young is the land of the Danube Delta, as old is its history<\/h2>\n

The area has been inhabited for at least 7,000 years and today represents the most cosmopolitan geographical unit on the globe – alongside the Romanians, 21 other nationalities live, of which the best represented are the Russians – Lipovans, Ukrainians, Turks and Tatars. In Sf\u00e2ntu Gheorghe, the inhabitants are of Ukrainian origin, Orthodox of the old rite and are called “haholi”.<\/p>\n

The Danube Delta is the best-preserved delta in the world and the second largest in Europe. It has the largest expanse of reeds in the world and is the largest wetland reserve in Europe. And these are just a few of the many things you can discover and explore here.<\/p>\n

There are some things that we encourage you to experience in the Green Village 4* Resort, for example a late lunch at the Laguna Braserie, an Ayurvedic massage at the SPA, a cocktail at the Riverside Bar, in the Egreta area, a private dinner in one of the gazebos on the water or even an evening spent at the open-air cinema.<\/p>\n
